To deal with a database, first we will need a database. With the SQL-command CREATE DATABASE, you tell the system to create a database with the name that follows. After the database have been created, we can alter its name, or start putting content inside by adding tables containing the various data we want to store.
--- SQL command to create database ---
CREATE DATABASE databasename;
In this example, we want a database to hold different information about ducks. If we type the following command, CREATE DATABASE DuckTown, we have created a database named DuckTown. Now we have a ready database, which we can fill with tables of data.
--- SQL command to create a database named DuckTown ---
CREATE DATABASE DuckTown;
